The Night Shadow project by photographer & artist Michael Neff highlights silhouettes found in the semi-darkness of a New York City night. Neff travels the city outlining the intriguing shadows cast by buildings, railings, bike racks, signs and other street objects he comes across with chalk.

If you’re a lover of the latest gadgets, but appreciate all things retro, then the V-Luxe iPad Stand is for you. This iPad stand was designed by Paula Anne Patterson and takes inspiration from the wood-grained black and white televisions that were popular in the 1950s.

From odd sculptures to strange statues, cities love to erect unusual structures to show some local color. Here are a handful of our favorites from around the country.

London artist Ben Wilson has undertaken a project like no other: painting gum that has been spit out all over the streets of his beloved city. These mini canvases have proven to be quite good as well.

Considering that littered gum does end up creating a trashy sort of mosaic on sidewalks and footpaths all around the world (excluding Singapore, of course), Ben Wilson has stepped up their artistic potential. Check out the gallery above for his amazing works.

Welcome to the greatest car exhibition on Earth: the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas. Every year, aftermarket suppliers, tuners, hot-rod builders and even mainstream carmakers wrench tirelessly in the months prior to this Sin City mainstay to craft the most imaginative machines their minds can conceive. While innovation has its place, sometimes these automotive artisans can venture into the extreme zone. Here are our picks for the most outrageous machines on display at the 2010 SEMA Show.

Johnny Swing is a very original furniture designer who decided to give literal meaning to the phrase “sitting on cash” by building a series of sofas and chairs out of thousands of coins.

His latest creation, entitled “All the King’s Men” was made out of thousands of 50-cent coins, which makes it not only ridiculously uncomfortable, but also insanely expensive. Each coin was welded to a steel frame, which obviously takes a lot of patience, but considering Johnny has done it a few times before, it probably wasn’t that much of a problem.

While it’s not the kind of comfortable furniture you’d want to slouch on when you get home from work, Johnny Swing’s coin sofa is definitely something to look at, especially knowing that owning it is actually illegal in many countries.

nOir Jewelry Pays Homage to Disney Inspirations
Bigger, better and more bling is definitely a nOir Jewelry trademark. Accessories designer Leeora Catalan founded this company 14 years ago and recently dedicated a line to Disney-inspired characters. Its not necessarily a direct reflection to Ariel from ‘The Little Mermaid,’ however, it is a more abstract dedication with mythical pegasus and hippo rings.
nOir Jewelry has become a famous trend with celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Madonna and Gwen Stefani to name a few.

‘Drowning in Brands’ is a symbolic new photo series from Alexander James that features some of the world’s most iconic brands done up in roses and photographed underwater.

The 80 Port USB Charger Board Lets You Host Charging Parties

Although it’s easy to run out of USB ports to charge your devices with, I can’t imagine that you’ll ever need to use the 80 Port USB Charger Board in its entirety.
Brought to you by Thanko, the 80 Port USB Charger Board will allow you to have those charging parties you have always wanted to host. All jokes aside, this Japanese device could be incredibly useful within office spaces. Sold for about $182, I think this piece is definitely a good investment for techies.

The word chic was coined in Paris, so it's no great surprise that the biennial Paris Motor Show is filled with stylish and elegant machines. Among the most fashionably dressed sheet metal are the concepts, cars built to demonstrate an automaker's creative vision and technical prowess and to test it, in a public way, without taking a huge financial gamble on a full production car. Here, we've selected 10 concepts on display in the City of Light that we think represent the best of the breed.
